The Duck River cuts 270 miles across middle Tennessee, is the longest river completely held within the borders of our state. It is also one of the most biologically diverse rivers in the world. The Duck supports over 100 species of fish, 20 species of aquatic snails and 50 species of freshwater mussels. There are more species of freshwater mussels in the Duck River than all the rivers on the European continent combined.
